Nothing Makes Me Happier Than Nature and Her Healing Powers!

Apr 16th 2018

I am a klutz.  Let me rephrase that.  Definition of Klutz?  My picture with my daughter as a close second.  If there is an accident waiting to happen I am the first in line.

This weekend I was hosting lunch for some cast  members of a musical my daughter was in.  I was making spaghetti and meatballs.  As I was getting ready to lift the pot of boiling water with said pasta, I tripped over the man-puppy who is forever at  my feet and  part of my right hand went right into the pot.

I pulled it out damn fast, but OH MY GOD!!!!!  The PAIN!!

Now, before I get into the "healing" part, I kinda have to laugh.  As I was editing this, I had an Ina Garten moment.  You know the memes. "If you can't get butter infused with the tears of virgin Dutch milkmaids, store bought is fine".  I like to go as natural as possible when it comes to my family's health and healing of all things painful.  Totally understand if you're reading this thinking the exact same thing!!

After I stopped screaming like a loon, I put my hand under running cold water and yelled for my husband to get an ice cube.  By this time the area on the outside of my thumb near my wrist was a beautiful shade of red and a blister was starting to form.  I kept the ice on for a few minutes and had my husband find a large bandage.  We poured some of our *Lavender Infused Oil on the gauze part of the bandage and let it soak in.  I dried off my hand, cut off a piece from my aloe vera plant and squeezed the juices onto the burned part of my hand.  I gave it a few minutes and then put the bandage on with the infused oil.  I'm gonna tell you, it felt so good!!

Every few hours I would reapply the infused oil and by the time Saturday evening rolled around, my hand was no longer red, the blister was gone and it only stung a little bit.  By Sunday it was as if nothing had happened in the first place.

I LOVE using our Lavender Infused Oil in these types of situations. Made by infusing lavender grown in our own garden in Sweet Almond Oil, it is a mild and gentle option to help your skin heal from minor burns and irritations.  I find it to be less volatile and irritating then lavender essential oil for skin issues.

I want to share with you the beauty of our Lavender Infused Oil, actually all of our infused oils!  We are offering 10% off the purchase of any of our Infused Oils using the code INFUSION through the end of the week.  I'm so grateful to have this in my home apothecary and hope you stock yours with it as well.

I'm looking forward to spring, if she ever decides to show up, so I can get back in the garden with these beautiful plants and share more of nature's natural healers with you!  In the mean time, I'm going to slow down and make sure I know where that dog is every minute of every day!!

Be Well <3
